Q: What can you teach my dog?

We excel at teaching the essential skills and commands dogs need to thrive as family companions. This includes obedience training (sit, place, wait, off, leave it, etc.) as well as manners development (leash walking, no jumping, gentle interactions, etc.) for a well-rounded learning experience. Of course, every dog's program is customized depending on your specific needs, goals, and the skills your pup already has. Q: How do I get started?

It all starts with a FREE training evaluation. This is a one-on-one meeting between you and a member of our training team here at Paws Pet Resort. We'll show you our facility, our training areas, and discuss your individual objectives and challenges. Then, we'll determine the best options we have for your situation and go over our programs, methods, and any questions you may have. Q: What training methods do you use?

Our professional local dog trainers exclusively use positive-based methods in all of our training programs. We work in tandem with the natural motivations of your pup with rewards such as small treats, praise, verbal cues, and/or play. The result is a more engaged dog who thoroughly enjoys the training process, and that's always our goal.

Q: Can you socialize my dog?

Yes, we're happy to help your dog build their social skills, and many of our dog training programs contain a socialization element. While we're not able to help with cases of extreme aggression, we've helped many nervous or hesitant dogs come out of their shells.

Q: Can I be involved in the training?

While the bulk of your pet's initial learning takes place during a stay at our resort, pet parent involvement is a key component of ongoing success. When you pick up your dog, we'll provide a private lesson to demonstrate everything your pup has learned and how to encourage the behaviors at home, including practice exercises the whole family can use.

Stay & Train is one of the most effective ways to help your dog learn new skills while building lasting habits. During a customized 10-day or 15-day Stay & Train program, your dog enjoys all the comforts of Paws Pet Resort while receiving multiple professional training sessions each day based on their individual goals.
